Another version of John James Audubon's "Birds of America" went under the hammer, to create another milestone for itself by earning over staggering $10 million to give it the title of the most expensive published book in the world today. Won by an anonymous bidder from the phone, the 435 hand-colored illustrations of birds all life sized dating to 1827. The book measures 3 feet by 2 feet and has been painted using watercolors. Sotheby's sold the rare masterpiece for $10,270,000.
