The Hermanus Whale Festival, the only Enviro-Arts festival in South Africa, is held annually to celebrate the return of the Southern Right whales to the waters of Walker Bay, our magnificent environment and the arrival of Spring!

One of the most exciting and innovative events at this year’s Hermanus Whale Festival is the Welcome Whales Wave – about 2 000 people will create a human chain along the unique Cliff Path and perform a welcoming wave for the whales.
